Protect our moose not the Wolf Cult

    Brabant Lake is a community that depends on moose. Moose is the major source of healthy , abundant good meat. Many people were involved with hunting for their annual supply.  People here have a track record of being efficient, skillful hunters. They never waste meat . They are generous to share the meat with non- hunters and the elderly. In addition every moose hide is used. Unlike many Northern communities we still have people who are experts at making tanned moose hides. Southend, Reindeer Lake has too much  access to government money. They don’t seem to have any or few people who want to do that much work.  Entrepreneur Tommy Bird delivers hides to craftsmen and crafts women here who work in the heat of summer and the cold of Fall to make hundreds of excellent smoked hides. Then Tommu Bird of Southend goes to the Far North and sells them. Brabant Lake hide makers nurse their sore shoulders, legs and backs . They go on to work at getting their moose . This year there was a serious hitch.  The wolves got our moose. No one got any moose.

    Sam Boutin and his parents originally from James Bay, Quebec, have brought a lot of fresh wilderness skills into our community. They have also brought a lot of clear thinking. Wolves are eating our moose supply. They estimate there are at least sixty wolves around Brabant.  Therefor you work at eliminating wolves to protect our meat supplies.  The wolves are also a direct attack on the family income. The store in Brabant Lake is now called Brabant Lake Resort. He wants to encourage the tourist trade of hunters and fishermen.

    Sam Boutin shot a wolf. There needs to be at least twenty more wolves eliminated.. Wolves boldly  stroll down the streets in broad day light. At least two sets of three have been spotted.  Three of them were wearing tags.  There is a case that one shouldn’t walk in the surrounding community and in the streets without being armed. It also helps if you know how to shoot a gun and do it carefully in a populated area.

    Then Sam Boutin , after doing a logical and in many ways necessary activity got fined. Worse he got fined because Tommy Bird who runs his dogs in Brabant Lake roads reported him to the SERM office. Apparently  Sam doesn’t have a license to kill a wolf.

    Sam, being from a real Northern community, one not full of people living off  petty bureaucratic rules and welfare thinks that he should solve a problem , not flaunt artificial perks such as whether or not some one is treaty, metis or defines himself as person. Period.

    In Saskatchewan one has a right to kill a wolf or coyote that is attacking your sheep or livestock.  Moose is a public resource of the people who live in the North.  Wolves attack Our resource . Logic is that Northerners have a right to protect our food supply as much as a farmer has a right to protect his income and food supply.

    What Tommy Bird did is petty and shameful. H e lives in a community twenty times as large as Brabant Lake. He makes money by selling our hard working efforts.( By our , I mean community members. I know how much work hide making is and prefer something easy like gardening in the wilderness.)
  
    SERM , drop this fine. And Tommy , run your dogs in the confusion and congestion of Southend until you apologise to Brabant Lake via Sam Boutin.  Gay

Of Poison and Murder

    Dominique Morin of Southend, Reindeer Lake, Saskatchewan was murdered a few months ago.  This is the fifth child ,of seven children in the Albert Morin family who has died a violent death. His uncle , Gideon Cook delivers water at our house. Gideon told my husband,  John that “ there are people who know things but they are not coming forward.”

    Here is my initial contribution to “ coming forward “ plus  a  bit of current events. About sixteen years ago Iasked Mrs. Gerdie Cook , who has since passed away if Gideon and Shirley are involved in drugs.  She said “ Shirley hides drugs for Albert in Brabant Lake.” Brabant is 4 km. South of Southend.

    Dominique was a regular drug connector for our neighbour Jesse McLeod .  Dominique would  come from the town entrance at Can - Am Store , walk at the back of the village hall , go along the path back of our property and enter McLeod’s from the rear of their property. He would have to pass our dogs. Chester and Mocha. They would inevitably bark when Dominique passed our property. Mocha was near the McLeod house. He was killed with poison.  Chester, who was near our neighbours’, Solomon and Lydia Hardlotte, was killed with a Coneybear Trap . He was thrown into Waddy River. Mrs. Lydia Hardlotte found him as she was rinsing hides. John Caswell took a picture of the dead Chester clamped to the trap, made posters  and put them all around town.  He definitely contacted the RCMP ( police). Nothing was done about it Locals know that Jesse stole coney bear traps from a trapper’s cabin up the Lake. Jesse never traps but snares pet cats .Ms. Nancy Charles reported him to the police. John drove her to court in Southend so she could pursue her complaint.  We do not know if anything was done about it.

    Gideon and Shirley Cook are the main source of “information”,usually disinformation from Brabant Lake to the Southend Police.  Mounties come and go usually in two-year or shorter
stints. The Gideon and Shirley Cook’s  influence and frienship to the police seems to go on forever. When John was deputy mayor of Brabant the Local Advisory Ctte. appointed him as police representative. Shirley immediately informed the police and everyone else that she, not John was the police representative and it had nothing to do with the LAC.  Another source of information to the police is Can Am Store. Gideon, as the store’s employee, spends hours there giving his twist on everybody and everything.

    We always have had dogs. Some of them even got to die of old age. We were reduced to two. We decided to start again. We got a little black one and a tan one who are brothers. I trained them to follow me to school, wait for me and come home. They immediately come when they are called by me. When we travel we take them with us in carriers.  This Tuesday they were poisoned by anti- freeze.  Death usually comes within 24 hours.  At  this point they are still alive. They have blue colour in the whites of their eyes.  They still reek of  anti- freeze five days later. One won’t eat anything.  I force a little  water down his throat with a squirt bottle and shove a little honey in his mouth. I thought one had disappeared to die so I decided it’s time to call the police.  Constable Carrier said that they can’t take it to court  because I am not an expert . I need to get evidence from a vet. The closest vet we know is in the town of Hudson’s Bay about 700 miles away.

    Maybe Dominique Morin would still be alive if the police had investigated the killing of at least five dogs .  His death goes through the wide drug trail which goes directly through Brabant Lake.  Gay

The Results Are In!

    In 2012 the state of Colorado voted to legalise marijuana. Incredibly they used the selling point: “ More jobs for our people. More money for our schools.” No one noticed that people doing marijuana don’t want to work and often are incapable of working?  No one thought that brain cells and undamaged short term and long term memory were needed for education ?
   
According to stats released in the ATLANTA magazine: Marijuana is the biggest problem in Colorado schools. Children as young as 6th grade show up for school stoned.
One year after pot was legalised 11% of Colorado’s 12 to 17 year olds were pot users. There was a 40% increase in drug related school suspensions and expulsions, most of which were  marijuana expulsions.

Marijuana related drug- related traffic fatalities  doubled from 2009 to 2014 to 94 dead.

In 2014 when retail marijuana businesses began operating, there was a 38% increase in the number of marijuana- related hospitalizations in only one year 

Parents state that not only is the legalisation harmful but marketing campaigns to marijuana attract children. Businesses sell bagged marijuana , marijuana pills, candy, cookies, gum and beverages.

These are only a few of the effects of legalising  marijuana three years ago in Colorado, U.S.A.

Northern Saskatchewan has had marijuana functionally legal if not officially legal for 40 years. The results are in:
Schools where not only students but teachers are marijuana users.
Plunging academic standards. Grade 12 students who are functionally illiterate.
 More and more government money hasn’t solved the problem and isn’t going to do so.  Northern Saskatchewan has the highest per capita crime rate than anywhere else in Canada. 
There were 65 reported murders in 2014.
Many young men and their families  are on welfare rather than working because they are drug users.

And recently: Four dead and seven wounded from a seventeen year old young man in La Loche

A sixteen year old from Brabant Lake began marijuana in Stanley Mission . Last week he attempted an armed robbery.

$150,000 and I didn't even go

    Well that great Canadian, 25 yr.old Jonathan Toews ( pronounced Taves, good Mennonite name) won the Stanley Cup, err, I mean ,the Chicago Black Hawks won.
    This posting is written by me but it is actually the posting of our neighbours.
    Brian McKenzie got a settlement of $10,000 because he allegedly went to the Anglican Residential School in La Ronge.  One neighbour says that he only went for a month. Another person looked through the records of Ospwakun Sepe School ( the public day school) and found that he was enrolled there through the period that he claimed he went to the residential school . As soon as he got the $10,000 he filled out a form for a Special Case. In the last few weeks he received $140,000. The community has been suffering from his wild sprees ever since. I asked people what is the logic of this ? Why did he get $150000.? No one could tell me.
    He gave one sister , who has a well paying job $20,000 He gave another a $1000 and another nothing. His sister could have also got the same amount of money but she didn’t bother. He bought one of his brothers a truck. He bought one for himself for $7000. He never gave his parents anything. No one could tell me why. Perhaps the parents know the Ten Commandments too well including “Thou shalt not steal” and “Thou shalt not lie”.
    Since we came 17 years ago Brian has had a track record of heavy dope usage, woman beating,  serious physical abuse against his former girl friend’s children, threatening us with burning down our house and the mission school, serious attempts to kill us, serial womanizing usually ending with violence against them, and corrupting minors . When he wants to party he takes over other peoples’ houses . Everyone is afraid of him with good reason .Last Sunday there was a rock through the window of the chapel door.  It is naturally assumed that he did it. Only he has the strength and the motivation to throw a rock through plexiglass into the middle of the chapel. He hates any thing about Christianity and probably needs to be exorcised.  This is not a joke.
    He bought two cases of whiskey , cost about $600 to $1000. “ Most of it was stolen from him.” Does this community need Brian to have $150000 of unearned money got by fraud? How many Brians are there all over Canada terrorising their own families and communities?
    There is not one case of proven residential school abuse. There is not one case of proven fraud either  . No court procedures, due process or legal defence was allowed. This whole racket  begun 40 years ago by Liberal Prime Minister Pearson who has been exposed as a high ranking Communist and by his protege Prime Minister Trudeau who was blatently a fellow traveller of Castro and the Soviet Kremlin. This whole corruption of native people is squarely on the Record of the Liberal Party. As long as the native vote was delivered no accountability or public scrutiny was allowed for the millions that went through Liberal Party Organisations like Federation of Sask. Indians, Brotherhood of.. et c.
    People believe that some natives are getting money because they were sexually and physically abused after they were forcibly yanked from their families. No person went to residential school without their parent’s permission unless the child was an orphan or a ward of the state ( foster child). Corporal discipline did not and does not constitute abuse under Canadian law. Catholic parents sent their children to Catholic Schools, Anglican parents to Anglican Schools. People got sums of money just because they attended and in many cases like Brian even if they never attended. One person who got money because her sister- in- law registered her personally told me “ I don’t  remember going to residential school. I was in the TB sanitorium those two years.” Gay

            On the night of Oct.14-15 ,2006 a vehicle was heading north to Southend, Reindeer Lake on Highway 102, a mine road with plenty of rocks ,hills, curves, dust and flying gravel. At a reasonably straight and safe stretch 1.5 km south of Brabant Lake a vehicle swerved into the bush and turned over leaving one man decapitated and two sent to hospital where they were released . One received injuries  to her back and neck. The fourth person left the accident and hitchhiked south to La Ronge. He was seen picking up dope at Linda’s Corner at about 2 AM. His name was Gary Merasty MP of Denesthe- Missinipi- Churchill in Northern Saskatchewan

            Many Brabant Lake people saw the carnage, the smashed front window, the beer cans in profusion floating in pools of blood.  In a very short time the scene of the accident was thoroughly cleaned with no traces of glass, blood,  beer cans and other debris. There was no extensive police investigation. The path of the vehicle in the bush could be seen for some time due to crushed brush. It was obvious the vehicle was going at an intense speed to mow down the thick growth . In the usual tradition a cross is put where a person has died. No cross was erected for some time so we put a cross in a pail of cement where the accident occurred. 

            People from Southend and Brabant Lake were telling my husband John that morning that there were four people not three as Missinipi Broadcasting Corporation stated. I phoned up MBC and asked “Why were they reporting three when there were four people and the fourth was Member of Parliament Merasty. Everybody in Brabant Lake and Southend knows that.”  The woman said “ We know that but the rest of the North doesn’t.

            MBC has always supported the Liberal- NDP establishment which in turn makes sure that the radio station is well funded. Merasty is a Liberal.

            That morning I phoned Liberal lawyer, Kapoor on another matter. He said emphatically “Keep out of this! It’s not your business.!” I said when the body parts of a human being are strewn over the road near my home it is my business.”

            I phoned Gary Merasty’s constituency office. No one answered so I left a message. “This is Gay Caswell. Why did you leave the scene of the accident.”  In the afternoon he phoned back from Meadow Lake and said “ This is Gladys Clarke from Southend, right”  I said my name again and repeated my question. Without denying anything he paused for a while, said a few things and then abruptly hung up as if his head cleared enough to realise that Gay Caswell and Gladys Clarke are not the same people.

            Gary’s sister Delores Merasty Cook was passed out at the time of the accident. She told me that she had to go to court but nothing was going to happen to her they promised. She was taking the rap for her brother and claiming it was she who was driving the vehicle. Nothing did happen to her except the sin and crime of lying in court.  She said that she would like to make a shrine for Darryl who was her friend. She was told that they could have a fish derby on his behalf instead. Eventually a stone was erected a short distance north of the scene of the accident and the cross in the pail of cement was moved there.

            Shortly after this Gary Merasty resigned as MP “ to spend more time with his family. Rob Clarke, Conservative  won the by- election and is still the MP today.  Cameco , the uranium corporation, hired Gary . A new  intense action to push us out of the North, to destroy the mission and myself was intensified. Readers may recall the prolonged effort to make us homeless by locking us out and boarding up our windows and doors about five times. Many people asked why are they so intent on getting us out of the North?! Their actions seemed extreme even for socialist vendettas in socialist Saskatchewan.

            Merasty has been positioning himself to run again as the Liberal candidate . “He “, to quote a Northerner ,” acts very prim and proper at Cameco meetings.”  He assumes that we are sufficiently bludgeoned that we won’t dare to keep alive the events  of Oct. 15, 2006.

            NOTE: If some of my details are off I encourage people to come forward and help me to correct them. To my knowledge there is no statute of limitations on manslaughter which includes leaving the scene of the accident. This event has never received a proper and thorough police investigation. The Liberals used the RCMP as their political enforcers. The Stephen Harper government is working to restore the integrity and effectiveness of Canada’s esteemed police force. Criminal investigation and conviction is the business of the police and courts. It is my business  to disclose what I know to the public G.
